Toni is LARAC’s Policy and Communications Lead and is responsible for advocating for LARAC and its members by engaging with devolved Governments on policies that affect Local Authorities and all other relevant stakeholders and organisations, such as WRAP and NAWDO.
Previously Toni worked at Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council, where she spent four years supporting the recycling and waste department in a strategic and communications role. She helped develop and roll out a twin-stream recycling service and went on to be instrumental in implementing a successful contamination process and communications package. She has also worked on environmental behaviour change projects with Hubbub and is keenly interested in food waste reduction and recycling. Toni graduated with an MSc in Environmental Sustainability from Keele University in 2016 and wrote her thesis on residents’ barriers to participation in food waste collection services. She is passionate about joined-up thinking, the Circular Economy and collaboration. She is a Climate Group Member on her local Parish council and is currently supporting the development of their Net Zero plan.
